Bravida Medical, a Geneva-based medical device manufacturer and pioneer of Silverlon® antimicrobial wound dressings, together with the New Century Art Guild, will cohost the Veterans Day Art Show on Saturday, November 15, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Geneva American Legion Post 75, 22 S 2nd St., Geneva, IL 60134.

The community event will showcase the work of U.S. Army Sgt. Mario Lopez, a wounded warrior, Purple Heart recipient, and artist whose inspiring journey began after sustaining severe burn injuries while serving in Afghanistan. Additional works by local veteran artists will also be displayed. Additional Veteran artists featured include Michael Bever, Anna Nothnagel, Jerry Loza and Ramona Pozek.

Attendees will enjoy an afternoon of art, connection, and reflection, celebrating the creativity and resilience of military veterans.

Refreshments and support for the event are generously provided by Barrel + Rye American Bistro, Courtyard Marriott St.

Charles, and The Legion of Honor.

Sgt. Lopez serves as the Southwest Regional Art Director for the New Century Art Guild, a nonprofit organization that provides art and business training to military veterans pursuing careers in the arts. His paintings have been featured in galleries, museums, and government buildings across the country — including the offices of U.S. presidents.
