NCAG-JAM “ARTPOST” EXHIBITION RECEIVES LOCAL AND NATIONAL RECOGNITION

The collaborative exhibition between NCAG and Joslyn Art Museum, “ArtPost,” has received recognition in the journal of the Association of Art Museum Director’s Community News section. “HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS” OPENING RECEPTION AND HOLIDAY PARTY

New Century Art Guild wishes to honor your family’s experience of military service, sacrifice, deployment, and homecoming by exhibiting your family photos, letters, uniforms and memorabilia. We will celebrate your loved ones at a warm and heartfelt holiday party in the Rotert Memorial Art  Gallery in Olde Towne Bellevue, NE. Food, drink, music and merriment will be provided!

Feel free to bring images or items before, during or after the opening reception, anytime while the exhibition is up, until January 31st, 2017.

ITEMS TO BRING:
• Photos –B&W or color photos of your family’s service member(s) at home or abroad
• Uniforms –dress uniforms, fatigues, helmets, covers, boots, etc.
• Memorabilia – folded flags, medals, buttons, souvenirs, headstone rubbings, etc.
• Letters and Flatwork –handwritten or typed letters to or from loved ones, war posters, leaflets, etc.

DISPLAY OPTIONS:

o Drop off your items during gallery hours or designated time. (Regular drop-off times: Sundays 2pm-4pm November – January)

o Feel free to create your own presentation board or shadowbox

TIPS:
• Please label EACH loaned item (such as the back of photos) with your name and contact info.

• Interested in displaying items from all periods of military history –please indicate if your service member was killed in action or was a POW.

• All images/ letters /items should be appropriate for all viewers.

• All efforts will be made to keep your item(s) safe…Include only items that you are comfortable sharing within the context of public exhibition:

o High quality copies of photos are better than originals
o No weapons, guns, swords, bayonets, etc. can be exhibited due to safety concerns.
o Include items of sentimental value only please (no items of high monetary value!)

VET-X-PRESS CREATIVITY WORKSHOP- “TOTALLY TUBULAR” INSTALLATION ART

“Totally Tubular” Fiber Art Installation ….Radically change an interior or exterior space using elemental art materials such as craft paper, yarn and tape. Work individually, then as a group, to create avant-garde sculpture constructions that will temporarily transform our workspace.

“ArtPost”, the culminating exhibition of NCAG emerging veteran artists and professional artist mentors, opened in the Community Gallery of Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, NE on Saturday, November 5th. The opening reception was part the military family fun day that drew a crowd of 450 to 500 patrons into the museum. The exhibition will be on display through Dec. 31st, 2016.
